We are seeing technological capabilities today that were unimaginable 20 years ago. The pace of change continues to accelerate, so it’s short-sighted to suggest that technology will not displace humans in the insurance space. Perhaps not tomorrow or next year, but as tech gets smarter, faster, and cheaper, human capital will become increasingly replaceable.
Will, aren’t you a ray of sunshine? By the way, common sense in this business will not be replaced. Bots have no way to do that and dealing with an irate customer on a claim or a rate increase will not be their forte.
If Democrats ever regain control of 2 of the 3 branches of US government, BOTs won’t be the main worry for insurance workers. It will be foreign workers who will take… be given… their jobs – thru Socialist policies.
I am all for automation as long as the robots spend the required classroom hours and pass the licensing courses for each state. Everyone wants to cut expenses but shouldn’t the industry first automate loss information without going through the process of getting loss runs? Why can’t insurance carriers have COPE info available to the brokers instead of making brokers responsible if the automation already exists? What about Traveler’s claims drones? Why can they share that with brokers?

Did he work for AAA?
No; he worked for the entertainment industry… and to pay alimony.
The short story is “The Last Question” by Isaac Asimov. One of the best short science fiction stories of all time.

Oh, look, it’s the famous “brown people are taking our freaking jobs” argument. How nice.
Where did I write such? Explain.
I wrote ‘foreign’. Do you have a reason for changing what I wrote as part of your comment reply?
