Louisiana Agent Accused of Fraud

June 23, 2009

A Baton Rouge, La., insurance agent has been arrested, served with a cease and desist order, summary suspension order and fine notice for alleged fraud.

Henry Leo Beard, Jr., 36, was arrested by agents with the Louisiana Attorney General’s office and served by Department of Insurance Fraud Section Investigators with a cease and desist order, summary suspension and a $1,000 fine notice.

Beard owns and operates a medical transportation agency, A&J Transportation and/or A&J Management Company. He is alleged to have falsified two certificates of liability coverage in an attempt to provide proof of automobile insurance.

Department records show that in November 2004, Beard was issued a Vehicle Physical Damage license, a Life insurance license, an Accident and Health license and a Property and Casualty license. He was also issued a Variable Contracts license in February 2007. All of Beard’s licenses were valid until the current action.
