The North Texas town of Cleburne has experienced seven minor earthquakes since early June, and State Farm Insurance is reminding residents that earthquake coverage can be added to their homeowners insurance policy.
No damage or injuries have been reported in conjunction with the series of small quakes.
Earthquakes had never surfaced in Cleburne, a city of about 22,000 located 50 miles southwest of Dallas, until last month. City officials and residents have questioned whether natural gas drilling could be a factor, and seismographs now have been installed there.
KDFW-TV has reported that State Farm recently mailed letters to residents recommending they add earthquake insurance to their homeowner policies.
The last quake was recorded in Cleburne by the U.S. Geological Survey on July 10. It measured a magnitude of 2.0.
