No, but lawyers (as most lawmakers are) can say anything and print anything they like (including court documents), even down to the point of accusing someone of violating federals laws that they do not have proof of.

And before someone comes up and say that it is not so and cannot happen, you are wrong. I had a lawyer accuse me of several federal violations in court documents. When I called this lawyer out in court about it, all she did was smile at me. I found out later that she was ordered to apologize for the remarks, but she never did.

Lawyers are like bankers. So low to the ground that they can walk upright under a snakes belly.

Without commenting on the current lawsuit, Campfield’s blog is a good read of what goes on in the TN legislature. The TN legislature has been the classic good old boy network. As a result he has made several enemies in the TN legislature for disclosing how things have been handled and many would do anything they could to get him out of office.

I had a long discourse with my kids about what they read and write on the web, particularly when they are using it for research for school. Seems they never knew of anything called copyright laws or libel laws and they believed everything that was presented in blogs and facebook etc. as being gospel…why else would someone write a long paper about a political figure without researching the veracity of the information? I told them that the laws were being tweaked as we speak to ensure the same legal principles that apply to newsprint can apply to the web. But this guy takes the cake by invoking legislative priviledge! The court should not have a problem getting this one right…
