This is the consequence of a failed policy of isolating Cuba for 50 years instead of maintaining some relationship with them. We have diplomatic relationships with many communist countries and other countries we barely agree with on anything but we treat Cuba like they are worse than North Korea or Iran. Now that other countries are going to assist Cuba to exploit her oil reserves, the US cries and whines. No one cares anymore. The world is moving forward regardless of what the US wants. Shame on the US and the Cuban Ex patriots that influenced the US to maintain such a ignorant policy towards Cuba.

We aren’t any more prepared then we were for the BP spill. We may be on alert, yet the inefficient clean-up technology and equipment is exactly the same as the BP spill…as the Exxon Valdez spill…same old same old. Nothing has changed. You can preach prevention but when it happens anyway, you need to have something effective to clean it up. Booms, skimmers and chemical dispersants aren’t the answer.

Just another reason we need to reopen and drill away in the Gulf. If we don’t we open it up to less skilled nations to be in charge of it’s operation. The Chinese need all the oil they can get and they don’t where it comes from. We need to be tapping all of our reserves to keep pace.
