I’m just going to throw this out there and see if it sticks. In theory (if it actually worked), what the federal government puts together as a health exchange should be similar to plans provided by large multi-state or multi-national companies. It just seems that the states don’t currently regulate the majority of health insurance plans used by their residents, so why would the DOI think it knows best what should be made available?
