I thought we already had this discussion and you agreed there was climate change, but you did not agree it was man-made. Are you now denying that the climate is changing rapidly?
LOL, I love it. So any time the weather gets warmer, colder, stronger, OR weaker….we call it climate change. I just call that, Wisconsin/Minnesota weather. What a joke. There’s a reason Austrailia just eliminated 90% of their “climate change” budget.
Climate change – duh! The climate has been changing since time began, it goes in cycles…. nothing man made, caused or controled by man.
They had to change the name from “global warming” – there were people dealing with some nasty winter weather that were not buying it.

I don’t think I thumbed you down, Libby. I just think “climate change” is a ridiculous thing for people to stress over. The climate is constantly changing, and they changed the name from “global warming” as some sort of man-made crisis, to “climate change” which is just normal and natural.
I don’t know whether the changes are man-made or exacerbated by man. It seems to make sense that it could be. Ever look at the temperature in the metro area of large cities compared to outlying rural areas? it always a few degrees warmer in the city due to the retention of warmth in the concrete, car exhausts, and other energy consuming items. Why wouldn’t this be a micro example of what’s happening to the entire planet?
Well, I would like to disagree. In the Chicago metro area, the suburbs are normally warmer a few degrees than downtown Chicago.
The problem with the whole “Climate Change” debacle is that it produced overzealous hypocrites who decry the use of technology in improving humankind’s standard of living and would rather that we revert back to bicycles, stop using technology, etc. Climate change has to be viewed in the same time scale as regular geology.
As a side note, on Earth Day, I turned on all my lights in the house.

However, my father was a physical scientist who, along with many thousands of others, signed onto a petition stating that temperatures are not increasing much at all. What you say makes sense, that it’s almost always a few degrees warmer in the city. One main reason that it appears they are getting warmer is the weather stations were originally placed in open areas AWAY from pavement and other things that generate heat. As cities grow, pavement and heat generating units become closer and closer, skewing the measured results. Not exactly a controlled study!
The meteorologists in CT can’t predict the weather correctly day by day….How is it possible for these meteorologists to predict that no hurricanes will hit the southeast?? Maybe they have better crystal balls in the Coastal Carolina’s than they do in CT??
Climate Change is real and no one denies it. I am of the opinion that man has accelerated the effects of climate change. However, I don’t think that anything we do know will have much of an impact because the glaciers are already melting.
Nonetheless, climate change is not a trivial matter. Whether you believe it’s caused by man or not, people are dying, losing their homes, and starving because of the erratic climate.
Let’s see. Six billion human beings on this planet and none of them are having any impact on the environment! Amazing. When I was a kid in eastern Ohio, the strip mining companies came in and tore away acres of land to get the coal. Then they left. Guess what, lakes and streams were damaged beyond hope. There’s a street in my hometown called Beaver Dam Rd. Why, because once upon a time, beavers thrived in Beaver Dam Creek. We called in sulpher creek because of the mine run off. The beavers didn’t strip the coal. Man did. Fortunately, the OH legislature went after the mining companies and forced them to reclaim the land by planting trees. Today, the area is beautiful and the lakes and streams are clean, but still no beavers!

Worthless. These people should consider applying their energy to something meaningful – these predictions are misleading, at best.
With their historical accuracy this scares me way more than them predicting increased hurricane activity.
