The Governing Committee of the California FAIR Plan Association has named Anneliese Hart as its new president. She succeeds Stuart Wilkinson, who will retire on February 5 after 18-years as president and a 50-year insurance career.
Hart joins the FAIR Plan after a successful 25-year career with the Farmers Insurance Group. She served as Farmers’ representative on the FAIR Plan Governing Committee since March 2006 prior to her appointment.
For the past four years, Hart was director of Farmers’ California Home Product Management – the state’s second largest homeowner line. Prior to that, she held management positions in the Pricing and Competitive Intelligence departments, and managed Farmers’ personal umbrella product nationwide.
She initially joined Farmers Insurance as a file clerk, progressing throughout the organization with positions of increasing responsibility in policy processing, underwriting, computer operations and human resources.
The FAIR Plan is a private association based in Los Angeles comprised of all insurers licensed to write property insurance in California. In accordance with Insurance Code statute, all insurers conducting property business in California must be a member of the Association. FAIR Plan profits and losses are shared by its
members in direct proportion to their market share of property insurance written in California.
