One of the most active recent acquirers of agencies and brokerages is Michigan-based Acrisure. The firm, bought by Gen star Capital in 2013, bought up more than 138 retail brokerages over the next three years. Acrisure in November a completed a buyout from Genstar of the company for $2.9 billion.
