Sompo International Holdings Ltd., Service Insurance Companies

Sompo International Holdings Ltd. has a definitive agreement to acquire Service Insurance Companies, a monoline workers’ compensation insurance company based in Austin, Texas. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Founded in 1982, Service Insurance brings claims expertise and a complementary focus on the small and medium-sized enterprise segment. Brad Davis, current president of Service Insurance Companies, will continue to lead the business for Sompo.

The Doctors Company, ProAssurance Corporation

The Doctors Company completed the acquisition of ProAssurance Corporation for $25 per share in cash, a total value of about $1.3 billion.

ProAssurance is a specialty insurer in medical liability, products liability for medical technology and life sciences companies, and workers’ compensation insurance.

The Doctors Co. is a physician-owned medical malpractice insurer. The combined company will protect more than 200,000 healthcare professionals and organizations nationwide with assets of $12 billion. ProAssurance’s common stock will no longer be listed on the New York Stock Exchange, and ProAssurance will become a wholly owned subsidiary of The Doctors Co.

ALKEME Acquires Eight Agencies

Insurance agency ALKEME Insurance acquired eight agencies across the U.S. over the second quarter of 2026. Terms of the deals were not disclosed.

The newly acquired firms include:

LG Insurance (Long Branch, New Jersey) – A P/C agency specializing in the high-value residential market for personal lines and the hospitality and construction sectors for commercial lines.

Blue Lion Insurance (Chandler, Arizona) – With operations in Arizona and Washington, serves personal and business lines clients with a focus on contractors and hard-to-place surplus lines.

Top Floor Insurance (Atlanta, Georgia) – Focused exclusively on commercial P/C insurance for apartment community owners and managers.

Affordable Medicare Solutions (Hoschton, Georgia) – A retail agency providing Medicare benefits coverages to individuals and families throughout the Atlanta area.

Stonebriar Insurance (Dallas-Fort Worth, Texas) – A retail P/C agency providing coverage to individuals and businesses across the Dallas-Fort Worth area, with additional health and specialty products.

Virtue Risk Partners (Pearl River, New York) – A specialty underwriting organization focused on general casualty, professional, environmental and excess insurance solutions.

LF Insurance Group (Golden, Colorado) – A retail P/C agency with a long-standing presence in the Denver market.

Blue Sky Insurance (Simi Valley, CA) – An independent P/C brokerage with over two decades of service, specializing in apartment building coverage.

East

World Insurance Associates LLC, Still Creek Insurance

World Insurance Associates LLC acquired the business of Still Creek Insurance of Rockville, Maryland. Still Creek Insurance offers auto, home, business, and life insurance. The agency is led by Steven Bender, Kevin Rowe, and David Wexler. Still Creek is licensed in Maryland, the District of Columbia, Virginia, and Delaware.

World Insurance, based in Iselin, New Jersey, serves clients from more than 250 offices across the U.S. and U.K. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Midwest

Arthur J. Gallagher & Co, Cincinnati Benefit Solutions

Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. acquired Ohio-based Cincinnati Benefit Solutions. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Cincinnati Benefit Solutions provides employee benefits services for small businesses in Cincinnati and nearby areas. Drew Locaputo and the Cincinnati Benefit Solutions team will remain in their current location under the direction of Brian Lomas, head of Gallagher’s Great Lakes region employee benefits consulting and brokerage operations.

Risk Placement Services Inc., Med James Inc.

Arthur J. Gallagher & Co.’s U.S. wholesale brokerage, binding authority and programs division, Risk Placement Services Inc. (RPS), acquired Overland Park, Kansas-based Med James Inc. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Med James is a managing general agency (MGA) and wholesale insurance broker serving retail agents. Pam Donahue and the Med James team will remain in their current location under the direction of Jacey Norberg, VP-North Central Region for RPS.

South Central

Hilb Group Acquires Louisiana P&C Agency

Hilb Group acquired a Louisiana-based property and casualty agency. Hilb did not specify the name of the acquired agency. The acquisition takes effect today and builds on the company’s growing presence in the Central region.

Amwins, Jackson-Lloyd

Amwins acquired Jackson-Lloyd, a specialist MGA dedicated to occupational loss protection.

Jackson-Lloyd will join Amwins Specialty Casualty Solutions (ASCS), an MGA and specialty insurance program creator, strengthening its growing accident and health portfolio with a program that has defined the non-subscriber insurance market in Texas for more than three decades.

Founded in 1989 in Longview, Jackson-Lloyd is widely regarded as a pioneer in non-subscriber occupational accident programs.

Sequel Insurance Agencies, Watkins Insurance Group

Sequel Insurance Agencies, powered by SIAA, an independent insurance agency platform and perpetuation partner for entrepreneurial agencies, acquired Watkins Insurance Group, including five office locations across Austin and Central Texas.

Patrick Watkins will maintain his CEO role alongside the entire management team and the organization’s workforce of more than 160 colleagues. Founded in 1949, Watkins Insurance Group provides business insurance, personal insurance, employee benefits, surety, and risk management solutions. Watkins is known for its client advocacy, community involvement, and commitment to delivering customized insurance solutions and trusted relationships.

Sequel Insurance Agencies is a brand name used to represent affiliated insurance agencies: 123 Insurance Inc., Arbor Insurance Group LLC, Cogswell Insurance Agency LLC, Feingold & Feingold Insurance Agency Inc., GIA Group LLC d/b/a Glenwood Insurance Agency, Hyland, Block & Hyland Inc., Insurance Circle Agency LLC, Paris-Kirwan Associates Inc., and PKA-Drake Agency LLC.

Brown & Riding Launches National Private Client Practice

Brown & Riding launched a new national private client practice, a specialty practice area focused on affluent personal lines.

The practice is led by Courtney Kerr, backed by a team with experience in affluent personal lines, complex personal risk management, and the development of bespoke insurance solutions for high-net-worth individuals and families.

Brown & Riding is based in Dallas, Texas.

Southeast

Marshall+Sterling Opens Fort Lauderdale Office

Marshall+Sterling, the large, New York-headquartered insurance brokerage, has expanded its South Florida operations with a new office in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

The firm, now with 22 locations around the country, already has an office in Wellington, Florida, near West Palm Beach. That will remain the home of Marshall+Sterling’s equine division.

The Fort Lauderdale site will become a hub for the brokerage’s property-casualty operations in the region, including its four Virgin Islands offices. The Fort Lauderdale hub will be led by Alison Kallman and Yannick Nicome, both of whom are vice presidents and regional service managers.

Enterprise Risk Associates, Insurance Solutions of America

Enterprise Risk Associates, the New York-based insurance brokerage that has focused on expansion through agency acquisitions, acquired Insurance Solutions of America (ISOA), headquartered in Oviedo, Florida.

ISOA, founded in 2007 by Scott Lugering and Amber LaSota, specialized in commercial coverage for businesses that provide protection systems for others. Lugering will remain at the helm of ISOA, and the team will operate out of the Oviedo office.

The terms of the deal were not disclosed. The move comes seven months after Enterprise Risk leaders announced a $150 million infusion of capital from Macquarie Capital Principal Finance to further the brokerage’s acquisition plans.

Mile Auto, Insurance House Inc.

Mile Auto, an AI-driven MGA, acquired Insurance House Inc. With nearly $100 million in annual premium, the combined organization serves more than 55,000 policyholders and 1,600 independent insurance agencies across 10 states.

Mile Auto contributes patented artificial intelligence and computer vision technologies that power privacy-focused, mileage-based insurance products.

Atlanta, Georgia-based Insurance House adds more than 62 years of MGA expertise and trusted relationships with independent insurance agencies throughout the Southeast.

The combined organization will continue operating under the Mile Auto and Insurance House brands. Insurance House’s carrier partner, Southern General Insurance Company, will continue its relationship with Insurance House as an independent fronting carrier.

West

DUAL North America Launches California Homeowners Insurance Product

DUAL North America launched a California Homeowners insurance product, expanding its U.S. personal lines offering. The product is written on an HO-3 form, backed by an A.M. Best ‘A’ rated carrier, and offers dwelling coverage limits of up to $5 million. It is distributed through retail and wholesale agents using DUAL’s online platform

The product includes dedicated underwriting, sales and service support, a full-service SLA filing process and a customizable valuation tool. DUAL North America is a specialty program administrator offering property/casualty, financial lines and surety products through specialized operating subsidiaries.

DUAL North America is a part of the DUAL Group. DUAL is the specialist underwriting arm of Howden Group.
