Bob J. Corbett, co-owner and founder of R.J. Corbett Insurance Services in Oxnard, California, passed away on June 18, 2005 due to injuries sustained in a fatal motorcycle accident at the age of 45.
Corbett founded Oxnard-based R.J Corbett Insurance Services in 1994 with his wife of 20 years, Patti, a partner in the agency. Patti will continue to keep Corbett’s legacy.
Corbett started his insurance career in 1985 as manager of Oaks General Insurance Agency. From there he went to Corbett & Assoc. Insurance Agency Inc. as an agent.
Born Dec. 23, 1959 in Santa Monica, Corbett resided in Ventura County. He was a member of the United States Army, where he was stationed in Germany for four years.
Corbett was a devoted family man and is survived by his wife Patti, daughter Stephanie, sons Kyle and Jason, father Robert, brother Rick, sister Susan, and grandfather Dick. Corbett enjoyed being outdoors and was an avid angler and motorcycle enthusiast.
A memorial service was held June 25 at Pierce Bros. Valley Oaks Mortuary and Memorial Park in Westlake Village.
He will deeply be missed by his family, friends and clients, all of whom he considered friends.
