The Board of Directors of Fireman’s Fund Insurance Co. has elected Joseph J. Beneducci as CEO of the property and casualty insurance company. His appointment takes effect on Jan. 1, 2007.
Beneducci previously served as president and chief operating officer. He succeeds Charles (Chuck) Kavitsky, who has been promoted to a new position as president of Allianz of America. Kavitsky will be responsible for Fireman’s Fund and Allianz Life Insurance Co. of North America. His appointment is also effective Jan. 1, 2007, at which time he will report to Allianz of America Chief Executive Jan R. Carendi.
Prior to assuming the role of president and chief operating officer in February 2006, Beneducci held a number of key executive positions, including executive vice president and chief administrative officer, and senior vice president in the company’s commercial business unit. He joined Fireman’s Fund in 1998 after a 10-year career at Chubb. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Drew University.
Prior to his recent appointment, Kavitsky was CEO of Fireman’s Fund. Before joining the company, he was president and chief marketing officer of Allianz Life Insurance Co. of North America and had been a sales and marketing professional for 30-plus years. –
