I employ several Gen Y people, who, btw, are college graduates. Keep in mind that while they are tech-savvy, some of them lack the social skills formerly called “common courtesy.” I suspect the reason may be because of the large amount of time they spend communicating through electronic devices prevents them from being able to read the subtle, non-verbal, tell-signs we all display when we are thinking about something that has just been said to us.
I also find most have punctuality issues.
