Decrease in average total combined auto insurance premium in Colorado from 2003 to 2004, according to the National Association of Insurance Commissioners’ “2003/2004 Auto Insurance Database Report.” According to the report, Colorado had the largest decrease in that time period. The next closest states were Utah, which saw a premium reduction of 1.1 percent, and Kansas, which saw a 1 percent premium decrease.

Number of drivers in California who received warnings that their auto registration may be suspended due to a lack of insurance. The state is cracking down on uninsured motorists by checking reports from insurance companies against Department of Motor Vehicle registrations. About 14.3 percent of California drivers are uninsured, according to California Department of Insurance statistics.
