Nuts & Bolts: The Water Quality Insurance Syndicate, WQIS, is offering a pollution liability product for marina owners and operators—Blue Haven Marina Coverage. It is also available for vessel owners and covers any vessel under 300 gross tons moored, berthed or visiting a marina. Covers state and federal pollution civil penalties, the costs of spill cleanup, damages and legal defense. It protects marinas in the case of third-party damages and provides MPRG,
the Marine Pollution Response Group, to assist and supervise the cleanup of spills.
Dollars: Priced on a per slip mooring basis; limits of $500,000 or $1 million. Higher limits may be available upon request.
