Liability Long Term Care Facilities
Nuts & Bolts: Houston, Texas-based London American Risk Specialists Inc. is offering CareSurance, a new liability insurance program designed to meet the needs of skilled, assisted and independent long term care (LTC) facilities across America. Care-Surance uses a completely new approach to liability insurance, the company said. It starts with a comprehensive risk assessment of each facility and generates a quote based on the facility’s risk profile. The CareSurance program also includes powerful risk management tools from LTCQ Inc. that provide significant clinical, operational and financial benefits to the facility. Some of the proven risk management tools in the Care-Surance Program are: a Data Integrity Audit (DIA) of the Minimum Data Set (MDS) done prior to state submission that includes instant online feedback on any inconsistencies. There is also a documentation check-off feature that ensures any exceptions or special circumstances are properly documented in the medical record.

Dollars: Limits of up to $5 million per claim and $15 million in the aggregate are available per nursing home, with deductibles from $10,000.

Liquor Liability
Nuts & Bolts: Pacific Coast E&S Services of Sherwood, Ore., announced a new liquor liability program that offers competitively-priced, stand-alone liquor liability for restaurants, bars, taverns, (live entertainment okay), package stores and private clubs. Assault and battery coverage is also available.

Dollars: $1 million per occurrence; $1 million aggregate.
States: Oregon.

Accountants Errors & Omissions
Nuts & Bolts: Arrowhead General Insurance Agency Inc.’s Professional Liability Division offers fast and easy online quotes on Arrowhead Exchange for their Accountants Errors & Omissions program. Their target market is small to medium private accounting firms (1 to 50 professionals), including CPA’s, public accountants, enrolled agents, tax preparers, bookkeepers and other accounting professionals. Arrowhead is the program administrator for Twin City Fire Insurance Company, a subsidiary of The Hartford Financial Services Group, Inc., an “A+” rated carrier by A.M. Best Company. Arrowhead Exchange is Arrowhead’s secure online portal designed to save producers time by offering an automated application process that enables them to quickly obtain premium indications and online quotations. Once producers have been appointed by Arrowhead’s Professional Liability Division and have received their login information to Arrowhead Exchange, they are presented with two options: a basic 12-question Quick Application for an immediate indication; or a full online application for an immediate quote.

Dollars: Limits start at $100,000 to $5 million.

New Business Owners Policy
Nuts & Bolts: Victor O. Schinnerer & Company, Inc. announces a new Business Owners Policy (BOP) with broader limits and coverage. This new policy is part of the DesignOne program. Policy changes include: off premises coverage may now equal insureds’ business personal property limit; a blanket additional endorsement now includes a waiver of subrogation at no additional charge. Limits increased to $300,000 for fire legal liability; limits increased to $25,000 for employee dishonesty and limits increased to $50,000 for computers. P&C coverage is provided within the DesignOne program, which also offers professional, pollution, employment practices and other business insurance to architects, engineers, landscape architects, surveyors and specialty construction consultants.

Dollars: Property limit is $9 million; liability, $1 to 2 million.

E&O Insurance Agents
Nuts & Bolts: The National Association of Professional Insurance Agents (PIA) announces a new market for insurance agents’ Errors and Omissions (E&O) insurance through Lloyd’s, London, utilizing Lighthouse Underwriters, LLC (a member company of U.S. Risk Insurance Group, Inc.) as the preferred E&S broker for this coverage. This facility, established over ten years ago, utilizes six syndicates for primary coverage and six for excess. In addition to placement through PIA National, applications will also be accepted through many PIA affiliates as well. Applications will be accepted for virtually any size and type of agency with the exception of MGAs and wholesalers.

Dollars: Coverage limits range from $1million/$1million to $5million/$5million

Privacy and Security Coverage Enhancements
Nuts & Bolts: Underwriting manager and claims administrator Euclid Managers, LLC has developed a new set of security and privacy coverage enhancements that can be endorsed onto any of the Euclid Managers’ internet and tech professional liability policies. These endorsements expand the current coverage offering of errors & omissions, content (including copyright and trademark infringement), security, personal Injury and privacy coverages already contemplated by the basic internet and tech forms. The enhancements include protection for laptop theft, privacy regulatory actions, and privacy notification and crisis management expenses. Coverage is available nationwide and the insured has the option to purchase just a portion of the new protections or purchase all of them.

Residential Contractors Coverage
Nuts & Bolts: Hull & Company has announced a new custom home builders program. The company will entertain risks with 20 starts per year or less. This is with an “A-VIII” rated carrier. Remodelers and renovations are acceptable. Occurrence form with five year sunset clause or claims made policy option with five year ERP included. Targeting risks generating in excess of $500,000 annual revenue.

Dollars: $1 to 2 million. Minimum premium $40,000.
States: California.

Non-Profit Organization D&O Liability
Nuts & Bolts: Arrowhead General Insurance Agency Inc. is offering a new not-for-profit directors and officers program designed to insure small to medium IRS tax-exempt 501(c)3 and 501(c)4 organizations. Policy features include: insured includes the organization, its subsidiaries, and any past, present or future director, trustee, officer, employee, volunteer, member of staff, faculty or committee; broad definition of claim includes written demands for monetary relief; civil proceeding; administrative, regulatory or EEOC proceeding; arbitration proceeding; criminal proceeding; or formal civil, criminal, administrative or regulatory investigation; wrongful act includes actual or alleged error, omission, act, misstatement, misleading statement, wrongful employment act, or breach of duty; coverage for employment practices liability including wrongful termination, harassment and discrimination; automatic coverage for acquired or created subsidiaries with assets less than 20 percent of the total assets of the entity; no retroactive date. Unknown prior acts are covered; duty to defend and will pay on behalf of the insured; punitive damages coverage where permitted by law; and marital estate extension for claims made against the lawful spouse.
