Violent Event Coverage

Nuts & Bolts: Hawkeye-Security Insurance announced it would offer violent event response Coverage beginning July 1, 2007, in selected states in the Midwest to its public and private school policyholders. Recognizing that most general liability policies do not cover many expenses and losses resulting from a violent event, this new coverage provides payment for certain medical and funeral expenses, death benefits, counseling services, wages for temporary personnel, rental of temporary facilities, and security service, regardless of legal liability.

Commercial & Residential Contractors

Nuts & Bolts: HDR Insurance Services recently announced a new market for commercial and residential contractors. Coverage includes general liability, auto, property, and inland marine multi-line policy and contractor’s stand-alone auto “wrap.” Minimum premium for general liability is $1,000 to $2,500.

Program automatically includes money and securities ($5,000/$2,000), bailees ($2,500), employee dishonesty ($5,000), outdoor property including signs ($5,000), tenant glass ($2,500) plus more than 20 other coverage extensions for no additional charge. Property limits available on a per location basis up to $750,000.
