In a decision that will affect roughly 130 employees, Farmers Insurance Group is closing its Southern California service center in Carlsbad. The process of closing the office officially began March 15. Along with the Carlsbad center, the company announced the closing of its service center in Columbus, Ohio. Farmers said the decision to close the two offices is based on continued efforts to enhance efficiency and keep rates as low as possible for customers. According to the company, termination dates will differ by function and will begin no earlier than May 15, with the entire closure completed by June 29.
