Kentucky insurance agents now have the option of reportedly saving time and paperwork thanks to new online services offered by the Kentucky Office of Insurance (OOI). Prior to the new enhancements to the OOI Web page, agents were only able to view their personal profiles, including licenses, exams, continuing education courses, appointments and financial responsibility records. Now, agents also can renew licenses, complete address corrections, request certification/clearance letters, schedule or reschedule exams, order copies of the insurance code, request replacement or additional licenses, correct information and request the voluntary surrender of licenses. An electronic payment can be made through the secure site for those transactions that have a fee. “We are very excited about bringing these new electronic services to our agents. It is now incumbent upon the Office of Insurance and the agent community to take full advantage of these cost- and labor-saving tools,” said Glenn Jennings, acting executive director. Agents can use existing passwords and user identifications to access the services at https://doi.ppr.ky.gov/Kentucky/secured/ Directions for setting up a new account are at the same location. Jennings said the Office of Insurance plans to launch additional electronic services throughout 2004 for potential agents, business entities, consumers and insurers.
