The Pennsylvania Insurance Department’s Web site has a new search feature for both consumers and insurance producers. The new “licensed producer” search gives consumers the ability to verify that they are dealing with an individual licensed with the Commonwealth. Consumers can search by license number, last name, business name or by city and state. The search results will display what types of insurance the individual and/or business are licensed to write, as well as when the license expires. Users can also search for enforcement actions by last name. Producers can use the search to verify that their licensing information is correct. The Web site is at www.insurance.state.pa.us.
