Bala Cynwyd, Penn.-based Philadelphia Insurance Companies promoted Brian O’Reilly from senior vice president of marketing to executive vice president and chief marketing officer. He succeeds Robert O’Leary, who was appointed to be the new president and CEO early February. O’Reilly has been with Philadelphia Insurance since 1990.
Additionally, the company hired Andrew Peel as senior vice president of information technology and chief information officer. Peel previously served as managing director for Alsbridge and was the executive vice president and CIO of ACE Insurance’s international division.
The company also promoted Dan Shea from Northeast regional vice president to senior vice president of marketing for the company’s Eastern territory. Shea is in his 24th year with Philadelphia Insurance.
Hartford, Conn.-based SPARTA Insurance promoted President and Chief Operation Officer Ralph E. Jones, III to chief executive officer. Jones succeeds George L. Estes, III, who is stepping down from his CEO post. Estes will still continue to serve as executive chairman.
Jones joined SPARTA as president and chief operating officer in September 2012. Previously, Jones served as president and chief operating officer for Everest Re Group from 2008 to 2010. He was also chairman and CEO at Arch Worldwide Insurance Group of Arch Capital Group Ltd. from 2003 to 2008.
SPARTA also said Brian First has been promoted to fill Jones’ previous positions of president and chief operating officer. First has been serving as executive vice president and chief underwriting officer.
Aon Risk Solutions, the risk management business of Aon plc, named Peter Hutton as resident managing director in the Morristown, N.J., office. Hutton joined Aon in January 2012 and most recently served as resident middle market sales director in the New York region. Previously, he was president at GFI Insurance Services.
Aon Risk Solutions also appointed Cherie Pikelis as senior account executive and Nicholas Moskos as risk consultant in the Pittsburgh office. Prior to joining Aon, Pikelis was vice president and personal lines manager at Willis Personal Lines and HRH Solutions. Previously, Moskos was sales representative at Liberty Mutual.
Additionally, Aon plc hired Mark Sweeney as vice president in the Providence, R.I., office. Sweeney most recently served as vice president at USI Insurance Services. In his new role, Sweeney is responsible for new client development in the middle market and large corporate segments as it relates to Aon’s Health & Welfare consulting and brokerage business unit, Aon Hewitt.
Montpelier, Vt.-based Vermont Mutual Insurance Group appointed Stephen Daglio as a regional general adjuster covering New England and New York. He formerly held the senior adjuster/general adjuster position at Patrick J. Donovan Associates with whom he was with for 20 years.
Erie, Penn.-based Erie Insurance appointed Keith Kennedy as senior vice president for strategic and integrated services with the company’s Information Technology division.
Kennedy has been with Erie since 2011 serving as vice president in sales and marketing. Previously, he worked for Blackwell Consulting Services.
Consolidated Insurance Agents LLC, a network of independently owned and operated insurance agencies in New Jersey, hired Jocelyn Rineer as field sales manager. Rineer comes to Consolidated from E&K Agency Inc., where she was commercial lines marketing manager.
The Navigators Group Inc. in Rye Brook, N.Y., appointed Christopher Finneran as U.S. chief claims officer of Navigators Management Company Inc., the Group’s principal underwriting agency subsidiary. Prior to joining Navigators, Finneran was head of claims at Everest National Insurance Company.
Medford, N.J.,-based Risk Partners Inc. named Tripp Craig as vice president of business development. Previously, Craig headed the sales efforts for York Alternative Risk Solutions, part of York Risk Services Group.
