Southfield, Michigan-based Meadowbrook Insurance Group Inc. has promoted Fred Browning to chief underwriting officer.

Browning, who most recently served as senior vice president of Admitted Carrier Operations, will now lead Meadowbrook’s corporate underwriting functions and will report to Nathan Voorhis, Meadowbrook’s chief operating officer.

Prior to joining Meadowbrook in April 2016, Browning served as managing partner for Overland Group, an intermediary and insurance consulting firm. During his career he has also served in executive positions with Crum & Forster, Sentry Insurance and DaimlerChrysler Insurance Group.

Meadowbrook operates in the specialty program management market through several agencies, claims and loss prevention facilities, self-insured management organizations and six property/casualty insurance underwriting companies. Meadowbrook has 28 locations.

Chubb Workplace Benefits in Chicago has promoted Jon Wayland to senior vice president of sales.

Wayland has 30 years of insurance industry experience and previously served as vice president of brokerage channel sales. In his new position, Wayland will continue to build and lead the Chubb Workplace Benefits sales team.

Chicago-based global insurance brokerage Hub International Limited (Hub) has appointed Amber Kennelly chief human resources officer.

Kennelly will be responsible for all HUB human resource strategic initiatives including talent acquisition and management, learning and development, employee relations, compensation, employee benefits and payroll.

Most recently Kennelly was vice president of compensation and benefits for Allstate Insurance Company and prior to that was vice president of Human Resources for Esurance, which was acquired by Allstate in 2010.

She started her career in financial services with Deloitte in their audit practice and at LaSalle Partners as assistant controller

Kennelly has earned designations as a CPA and Certified Compensation Professional.

National Partners, a new premium finance company, has named industry veteran Anthony Hanes managing director of sales. He is based in National Partners’ Chicago office.

Hanes has 15 years of experience in the premium finance industry and developing strong, profitable partnerships with independent insurance agents. He most recently served as executive vice president of sales and marketing for BankDirect Capital, where he led his team to robust annual production and revenue growth. He began his premium finance career as vice president of sales and marketing for Cananwill Premium Funding in 2002.

National Partners offers direct premium finance, producer fee programs, agent profit-sharing and rewards, private-label servicing, and premium-finance contract purchasing.

The company is not owned by or affiliated with any insurance company, broker or agent.

Leavitt Recreation & Hospitality Insurance (LRHI) in Sturgis, S.D., has promoted Nick Spencer to insurance agent; he specializes in home and auto insurance for individuals and families.

Spencer has been working for LRHI for more than a year and moved from the marketing department into the personal insurance unit.

Prior to insurance, he served in the military police for the South Dakota Army National Guard.

LRHI is part of Leavitt Group.

Anita Borgerding of North Risk Partners – Apollo Division in Albany, Minn., has been named 2017 Outstanding Customer Service Representative (CSR) of the Year for the state of Minnesota by the National Alliance for Insurance Education and Research.

CSR of the Year honorees are selected based on their demonstrated service and professionalism within the insurance community as measured by their written essay response and letters of recommendation submitted by a nominee’s colleagues.

Borgerding began her career in the finance and insurance industry in 2004, joining Apollo Insurance Agency in 2007 as a commercial service advisor. Today, Borgerding continues to work in a commercial service role with the agency, which is now a division of North Risk Partners.

In 2010, she earned her Certified Insurance Service Representatives (CISR) designation, and recently also achieved the Certified Insurance Counselors (CIC) designation.

Borgerding will receive a framed certificate, embossed with the special Outstanding CSR of the Year bronze medallion symbol, and is now one of 37 individuals eligible for the national honor.

North Risk Partners is a Minnesota independent insurance agency with 17 locations statewide, including Albany, Annandale, Baudette, Freeport, Hastings, Lake City, Mankato, Melrose, Monticello, Red Wing, Rochester, Roseau, St. Cloud, St. Paul, Thief River Falls, Wadena and Willmar.

Marsh & McLennan Agency (MMA), the middle market agency subsidiary of Marsh, appointed Bill Jeatran as president and Christina Mott as chief operating officer.

Both will report to David Eslick, chairman and CEO of MMA.

As president of MMA, Jeatran will focus on advancing MMA’s strategic direction through acquisitions, client engagement, talent development and best practices. Jeatran will continue to be based in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Jeatran succeeds Benjamin Allen, who has left the firm.

Formerly CEO of its upper Midwest region, Jeatran founded RJF Agencies in 1986 and was CEO until its acquisition by MMA in 2011.

As chief operating officer, a newly-created position, Mott will be responsible for operational best practices, innovation, technology/digitization initiatives and product development working closely with regional MMA leaders and teams across Marsh & McLennan Companies.

Mott previously served as Innovation Leader, Marsh Global Risk & Specialties. Her prior roles at MMC include global head of Innovation for MMC Corporate and director of Solution Development for Oliver Wyman. She is based in New York.

Columbia Insurance Group named Doug Duncan vice president and chief information officer.

Duncan is located in the company’s home office in Columbia, Mo. He is responsible for directing the information technology department in all matters of system design, integration and evaluation as it pertains to the company’s overall strategic focus on commercial insurance.

Columbia has five branch locations: Atlanta, Ga; Austin, Texas; Columbia, Mo.; Omaha, Neb.; and Salina, Kan.

Willis Towers Watson appointed John Campbell corporate risk and broking market leader and construction leader for St. Louis, Mo.

Campbell will be responsible for driving the overall CRB growth strategy, value proposition and talent acquisition efforts in the region. Additionally, he will oversee the development of the company’s construction business in the region. He will report to Scot Housh, head of corporate risk and broking for the Midwest region.

Campbell joins Willis Towers Watson from USI Insurance Services, where he held a variety of leadership roles, including most recently national construction practice leader.

Willis Towers Watson is a publicly traded advisory, broking and solutions company.
