The Jenkins Athens Group, of Concord, headquartered in Concord, Calif., has announced the hiring of David Crosby as vice president of business development for Athens Administrators, a risk management consulting and claims services company. Crosby joins Athens with more than 30 years of experience in the industry, and was most recently employed as regional sales manager for a large national third party claims administrator. His past responsibilities include the development of major market segments, as well as the acquisitions and management of national accounts throughout the country.

Debbie Messina has opened a branch office of Monarch E&S Insurance Services in Rancho Mirage, Calif. As branch manager, Messina is responsible for the development of new property/casualty business as well as managing the office. She began her career in the insurance industry in 1978 as a CSR and was licensed as a broker in the early ’80s. Messina was promoted to marketing and then became an account executive for a retail agency in Los Angeles. In 1996 she opened up the branch office of ESLIB in Rancho Mirage and became regional vice president.

Vicki Johnson joins Monarch as a senior underwriter and will be responsible for the development of new P/C business. She has been in the industry since 1996.

will act as a CSR handling all of the day-to-day service work on existing files and will assist in quoting and marketing. She has a background in both retail and wholesale, having entered the industry in the early ’90s.

Jeffrey A. Myers has been selected as the new executive director of Trusted Choice, the consumer marketing brand created by the Big “I” and independent agency companies. Myers will manage the day-to-day operations of Trusted Choice, including strategic planning and implementation; agent and consumer marketing; agent and broker as well as carrier recruitment; advertising programs; Trusted Choice Web site resources; and public relations. At the Big “I”, Myers most recently was vice president of communications with management responsibility for the Association’s member, consumer and media communications programs. Prior to that, he managed its public affairs communications. Before Myers joined the Big “I” in 1989, he was a public relations specialist with the United States Army stationed in Washington, D.C.

Robert Courtemanche has joined Novato, Calif.-based Fireman’s Fund Insurance Company as president, Personal Insurance business. Courtemanche was most recently senior vice president in the Private Client group of American International Group Inc. and was instrumental in establishing this business segment for AIG. With more than 20 years of experience in personal insurance, he has also held several key management roles at a nationwide brokerage firm and at Chubb & Son Inc.

Guy Carpenter & Company Inc., a global risk and reinsurance specialist and a part of the Marsh & McLennan Companies, announced the appointment of Beverly McIntosh as senior vice president in the company’s San Francisco office. McIntosh joins Guy Carpenter from Swiss Re in San Francisco, where she was an account executive and member of the management team. Prior to Swiss Re, she was an assistant director at Travelers Property Casualty after serving as property manager at American International Group, both in San Francisco and Vancouver. McIntosh began her reinsurance career in Toronto, where she worked at American Re and Munich Re.

Irvine, Calif.-based Heritage General Agency has hired Deborah “Deb” Neville as their newest assistant vice president/underwriter/broker for all lines of commercial coverages. She will be responsible for producing a general wholesale book of business including GL, property, DIC, inland marine, E&O and EPLI. Neville began her career over 20 years ago at Safeco in Fountain Valley and then moved on to Zurich American Insurance Co. in Tustin. After four years, she accepted a position at a retail agency in Orange County and after six years in retail, she moved into the wholesale side of the industry. Neville spent eight years at Yates & Associates in Santa Ana working with admitted and non-admitted carriers and maintained a CGL/E&O program for Private Investigators. She spent another five years with another large wholesale brokerage firm in San Diego before joining the HGA team.

Lincoln, Calif.-based Agency Management Resource Group, a provider of consulting and training services to independent agents and companies, announced that Mary M. Eisenhart has joined the firm as managing partner of the firm’s consulting division. Eisenhart brings 24 years of company and agency experience, including the last eight as a management consultant, to AMRG’s existing staff of consultants and trainers. Her primary focus will be on agency operations, E&O audits and technology implementation.

AMRG has also added Michelle Vogelman as director of marketing and events. She will be responsible for overseeing the firm’s programs, including continuing education classes, a producer school and an agency manager school. Vogelman previously served as director of Sales Programs for the National Alliance.


Alliance Insurance Services Inc.
, headquartered in Canoga Park, Calif., announced the appointment of Mary Drummond as senior commercial lines account manager and Ben Green as a commercial lines sales executive.

A 27-year veteran of the insurance industry, Drummond moved to Southern California to join Alliance from Nor Cal Leavitt Insurance Services in Redding, where she was an account manager. Prior to Leavitt, she was an account manager and producer with Pacific Cascade Insurance Services for 19 years. Drummond began her career in Fullerton, where she worked at Ohio Casualty Insurance Company.

Green, formerly the executive concierge at the Merv Griffin Resort Hotel and Givenchy Spa, will specialize in placing insurance for the hospitality industry and commercial contractors. Prior to joining Alliance, Green was also a sales executive with Partee Insurance in Covina.
