The Professional Insurance Agents associations of New York and New Hampshire announced to members that the organizations had recently cooperated with Merchants Mutual Insurance Co. to review the company’s new, updated agency agreement.
The bulletins, issued by the respective state organizations, noted that “prior to issuing the new agreement, Merchants sought PIA’s input in preparing the contract.” PIANY and PIANH offered several suggestions, many of which were incorporated into the final Merchants agreement.
“We appreciate Merchants giving us the opportunity to offer suggestions and comments on their proposed contract,” stated Jill Muratori, Esq., Government and Industry Affairs Counsel for PIA. “We believe such opportunities help facilitate a healthy working relationship between companies and their agents.”
Dan Bierbrauer, Merchants director of sales, called the PIA’s feedback “invaluable,” and indicated that the company was “pleased with the result of this collaborative effort.”
