New York-based Frenkel Benefits, a division of Frenkel & Co., Inc., announced the opening of their new office in Pittsburgh to be headed by Vice President Carole Lyon-Orr, formerly of Aon Consulting in Pittsburgh.
In her new position Lyon-Orr will focus on strengthening and developing client relationships, and recruiting new talent for the office. Craig I. Hasday, Frenkel Benefits’ President, announced her appointment, stating, “The addition of Ms. Lyon-Orr and this office marks an important step forward in our ability to serve our clients in Pennsylvania, as well as to expand our presence in this crucial market.”
Ms. Lyon-Orr, a Pittsburgh native, began her career as an underwriter in 1977 with Equitable Life Assurance Society and later with Blue Cross of Western Pennsylvania, now Highmark. Since 1990, she has provided health & welfare consulting and brokerage services while employed by several national consulting firms.
Regarding the industry’s biggest challenge, the high cost of health care, she commented, “Employers are looking for answers that go beyond the traditional cost shifting to employees through increased contributions and lowered plan designs. Our approach to the problem is fully integrated and addresses risk analysis, plan design, administration, funding, and benefit communication.”
