Chief Mineo was brought in from the outside to clean house and straighten up a disfunctional organization. He did his job and made enemies along the way. In the worst spirit of small town politics, the politicians caved in to union intimidation and negotiated an early retirement package, but not before commissioning a \’consultants\’ report to give them political cover.

Mineo did outstanding work at Wilton Police introducing accountability and professionalism. The union fought him every step of the way. His departure is the Town’s loss.
