Erie Indemnity Company (NASDAQ:ERIE) of Erie, Pa., is now included in the new NASDAQ Global Select Market. Prior to the change, the company had been listed on the NASDAQ National Market.
The NASDAQ Global Select Market claims to have the highest initial listing standards of any exchange in the world based on financial and liquidity requirements.
Beginning July 3, NASDAQ-listed companies will be classified under three listing tiers – NASDAQ Global Select Market, NASDAQ Global Market, and NASDAQ Capital Market. NASDAQ also plans to launch indexes based on these new tiers.
Erie Indemnity Company provides management services to the member companies of the Erie Insurance Group, which includes the Erie Insurance Exchange, Flagship City Insurance Company, Erie Insurance Company, Erie Insurance Property and Casualty Company, Erie Insurance Company of New York and Erie Family Life Insurance Company.
