Tompkins Insurance Agencies, Inc., of Batavia, N.Y., has purchased the Kemp Agency with offices in Dansville and Nunda, according to David S. Boyce, president and chief executive officer of Tompkins Insurance. The acquisition was effective July 1.
In addition to the five current employees, Thomas W. Didas of Wayland will be based at the Dansville office. Didas, who formerly worked with agencies in Dansville and Naples, is an account executive covering Livingston, Steuben and Ontario counties for Tompkins.
Tompkins Insurance offices in western New York, including Geneseo and Caledonia in Livingston County. Tompkins Insurance also operates two offices in Tompkins County in central New York.
Tompkins Insurance Agencies is a subsidiary of Tompkins Trustco, Inc., which is the parent company of the Bank of Castile, Tompkins Trust Company and Mahopac National Bank and AM&M Financial Services. Tompkins Trustco is traded on the American Stock Exchange under the symbol TMP.
