Eastern Dentists, Medical Protective Target N.Y. Market

Eastern Dentists Insurance Company, a dental society risk retention group, and professional liability insurer Medical Protective have formed an alliance to provide New York dentists and oral surgeons with professional liability coverage.

EDIC and Medical Protective have begun to market this program throughout the state of New York to dentists, specialists and oral surgeons.

EDIC was founded by dentists in 1992 as a risk retention group to serve the needs of Massachusetts dentists. Since then, EDIC has expanded its coverage area to all northeastern states.

With about $700 million in annual premium, Medical Protective writes primary medical professional liability coverage for physicians, dentists, healthcare facilities and professional corporations.
