The Corporate Law Unit supervises class action, extra-contractual, and non-claim litigation such as employment, real estate and contracts. They defend insurance claims for our policyholders in house and in more than 35 law offices nationwide. Corporate Law handles labor, civil rights, and intellectual property issues, purchasing and real estate contracts, and tax and investment matters. The department also drafts agents\’ contracts.

The Regulatory Law Department administers State Farm\’s legislative policies, oversees relations with United States Congress, state and provincial legislatures, and with state, provincial and federal regulatory bodies. The regulatory law unit also manages rate-related litigation; provides legal advice and representation for property and casualty and life and health insurance operations; and provides legal advice to financial services operations.
Unfortunately, until the state Supreme Court or the Legislature does something to prevent insurers from forcing plaintiffs to jump through hoops merely to obtain the settlement to which their policy says they are entitled, insurers will merely roll the dice with the hope of obtaining a jury verdict of less than the policy. Want no JURY.
