Pittsfield, Maine is one of four towns under consideration by a North Carolina company for a new call center that could employ up to 200 people.
Global Contact Services, which runs 11 call centers in six states, is holding a two-day job fair in the central Maine town this month to interview prospective employees.
Global Contact founder and President Greg Alcorn said much of his company’s work involves the insurance industry, so he is particularly interested in the availability of licensed insurance agents. Pittsfield is the only Maine location under consideration.
There is a vacant call center in Pittsfield where ICT Group operated until 2003.
