Alleged Arsonist Pleads Not Guilty of Setting Fire in Maine Town

A 31-year-old man has pleaded not guilty to arson charges arising from a September fire that destroyed several downtown businesses in Milo.

Christopher Miliano appeared Monday in Piscatquis County Superior Court, where he also pleaded not guilty to burglary and theft in connection with the fire and to aggravated assault for a November incident involving his girlfriend.

Miliano is accused of breaking into Hobnobbers Pub, where he allegedly stole some alcohol and then set fire to the pub to cover the break-in. The fast-moving fire also destroyed other businesses, including a flower shop, a former movie theater and a hardware store, and heaviliy damaged a pizzeria.
