Safety National has opened regional underwriting office in New York, and has tapped industry veterans Sharon Herschlag and Dennis Zervos as regional underwriting managers.
The company says the new office builds on its plans to bring underwriting capabilities closer to customers by adding regional offices in major cities across the country. Safety National plans to open additional regional offices in the next two years.
Herschlag brings over 30 years of claims and underwriting experience to Safety National from AIU, formerly known as AIG Risk Management Group. She most recently served as senior vice president, and was involved in managing AIG’s large excess units across the country. She will actively seek and underwrie large excess Workers’ Compensation accounts in the Eastern region of the U.S.
Zervos comes to Safety National with 26 years of underwriting experience, having spent the past 16 years with Zurich North America. He most recently served as vice president of Risk Management and was responsible for marketing and managing the company’s risk management casualty portfolio in the New York market area. Zervos will focus on Safety National’s Large Deductible accounts in the Northeast region.
