Navigators Names Byrnes as General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer

New York-based specialty insurance firm The Navigators Group Inc. has named Bruce J. Byrnes as senior vice president, general counsel and chief compliance officer.

Mr. Byrnes will be oversee legal, internal audit, state filings, licensing licensing and compliance efforts.

Prior to joining Navigators, Byrnes was general counsel at PXRE Reinsurance Co. from 2001 until it merged with Argonaut Group, Inc.. He also held the position of at which point he joined Hudson Insurance Capital Partners, an insurance industry focused private equity fund, as principal, chief operating officer and general counsel. He has also served as a layer with several New York firms, including Morgan, Lewis & Bockius and Baker & McKenzie.
