Swiss Re Corporate Solutions’ aviation unit is expanding its operations in the North American general aviation (GA) market. It launched a New York-based underwriting team dedicated to developing its GA portfolio across the United States.
Swiss Re Corporate Solutions is a Swiss Re unit that offers risk management and financing and insurance services for corporations.
As part of its growth strategy in the United States, the company has also expanded its relationship with Seattle-based London Aviation Underwriters (LAU) to service the market for smaller GA risks. And it has filed new product forms with each state to be able to offer hull & liability and CGL cover across the country on an admitted basis.
The general aviation classification is defined as aircraft with fewer than 60 seats, rotor wing, fixed wing, private business and pleasure, airports and airport-related services, as well as aviation manufacturers.
“The North American aviation market is an important part of Swiss Re Corporate Solutions’ insurance growth strategy,” said Nikolaj Beck, head of specialties for Corporate Solutions.
The aviation unit of Swiss Re Corporate Solutions offers tailored services to aviation clients and provides products for the industry’s various segments, including airlines, airports, general aviation, maintenance repair and overhaul, space, non-damage business interruption, multi-year and long-term deals, self-insured retentions, extra expense protection, as well as property and casualty coverage.
