Bermuda-headquartered XL Group said its insurance unit hired Michele Sansone as senior vice president and eastern regional executive, based in New York City.
She will be responsible for managing XL’s property underwriting activities throughout the eastern United States.
In her new role, Sansone will oversee property underwriting and broker relationships in the eastern U.S. region, working with XL’s underwriting offices in New York, Atlanta, Boston and Charlotte. XL’s current property coverages include property damage & Business Interruption on named perils and all risks basis, with global wind, flood and earthquake capacity available. She will also manage coordinating risk engineering services for XL’s property clients.
Sansone brings to XL more than 25 years of experience serving the global property market. She comes from Zurich NA where she served as senior vice president and northeast regional manager, responsible for managing property underwriting operations in New York and Boston.
She began her 16-year tenure with Zurich when the company acquired the Home Insurance Group where she was a territorial underwriting manager. Sansone began her underwriting career with AIG.
XL’s insurance segment provides property, casualty, professional and specialty insurance products.
