Wholesale intermediary Swett & Crawford appointed David Pohle as Media, Penn.-based transportation underwriter for its transportation practice group.

Pohle joins Swett & Crawford after eight years at Jimcor Agencies where he was the lead underwriter and director of the transportation department. Prior to that, he held a series of positions with increasing responsibility at Baldwin Sadler Corporation, beginning as an underwriting assistant in 1993 and ending his tenure there as vice president of transportation underwriting.
Pohle brings over 17 years of transportation underwriting experience along with a significant retail following to his assignment at Swett, the company said.
Swett & Crawford serves independent agents and brokers through specialized property, casualty, oil and gas/energy, professional services, transportation, reinsurance and underwriting practice groups.
These groups provide access to commercial insurance products and programs, including property/casualty coverages, products liability, reinsurance, professional liability, commercial and public auto liability as well as a host of customized binding authorities and exclusive programs tailored to specific industries, businesses and professionals.
