More than 195,000 Virginia homes and businesses remain without power after last week’s storms, down from a peak of about 1.2 million.
Dominion reported Wednesday that more than 68,000 customers were still without service. More than half are in hard-hit northern Virginia.
Appalachian Power says more than 117,000 of its Virginia customers are still without power. The state’s electric cooperatives have more than 10,600 customers without service.
The powerful storm that hammered the mid-Atlantic region with winds of up to 80 miles an hour left 11 people dead in Virginia.
