Union Mutual of Vermont Promotes Squairs to VP of Claims

Union Mutual of Vermont Companies has promoted Debra Squairs to vice president of claims.

Squairs joined Union Mutual of Vermont Companies in 1999 as a claims processor. She also worked as a claims adjuster, was the supervisor of the auto unit and was promoted to claims manager in 2008.

Prior to joining Union Mutual, Debra worked at Sterling Insurance Company in Cobleskill, N.Y., for 13 years in the claims unit as an adjuster and supervisor.

Founded in 1874, Union Mutual of Vermont Companies is comprised of three insurance companies: The Union Mutual Fire Insurance Company, New England Guaranty Insurance Company Inc. and Eastern Mutual Insurance Company.

These three companies write personal and commercial property/casualty insurance in New England and New York. In 2011 the companies had gross premium volume of $103 million.
