Union Mutual of Vermont Companies Appoints Claims Manager

Union Mutual of Vermont Companies promoted Peter Heitmann to the position of claims manager.

Heitmann joined Union Mutual in 1983 as a telephone adjuster, and moved to a regional general adjuster position covering Central and Northeast Vermont as well as Northern New Hampshire. He was promoted to casualty supervisor, and has held the position of senior casualty supervisor since 2009, including supervising subrogation for the company.

Union Mutual Fire Insurance Company was founded in 1874. It owns New England Guaranty Insurance Company and is affiliated with Eastern Mutual Insurance Company. The three companies write personal and commercial property and casualty insurance in New England and New York. In 2012 the companies had gross premium volume of $107 million.
