Jack, I have had clients ask me if they should report minor injuries to employees or take care of it themselves so they don’t affect their WC modifier for frequency. I always tell them to report it, because what if an infection sets in a couple of weeks down the road and becomes serious and they hadn’t reported the injury. Usually, an employer and employee will know within a week whether they have an injury. Kind of a fine line. Some unscrupulous employees will try to file a claim on their employer for a non work injury, particularly if their health coverage has one of those $3,000 deductibles.
In he words of the great Bart Simpson “You’re damned if you do and you’re damned if you don’t”.
What good is having a policy if you can’t enforce it.

A no win situation, for sure, Jack.
