Health officials have closed a suburban Rochester restaurant after dozens of people reported getting sick after eating there on Thanksgiving.
The Monroe County Health Department says it closed the Golden Ponds Restaurant and Party House in the town of Greece on Friday, the same day the agency started receiving calls from customers experiencing severe diarrhea a day after eating at the business.
Health officials say as many as 60 people have reported being ill.
Food samples from the restaurant have been sent to the state Department of Health laboratory in Albany for testing.
The owners of the 30-year-old restaurant aren’t commenting.
