Insurance Center of New England (ICNE), a privately owned and independent insurance agency with three offices in Agawam, Gardner and Westford, Mass., has hired Lori A. Slezek as chief financial officer.
In this role, Slezek will report directly to ICNE President and CEO William Trudeau and will oversee accounting, human resources, IT and financial planning and analysis, as well as assist with any of the company’s future acquisitions.
Prior to arriving at ICNE, Slezek was the director of finance and administration at the Governor’s Prevention Partnership, a private non-profit organization in Wethersfield, Conn. While there, she was in charge of annual budgeting, writing critical policies and procedures, implementing employee motivational programs, streamlining the hiring process and adding employee benefits.
In addition to her work with The Partnership, Slezek previously served as director of Administration and Finance for the Mental Health Association of Springfield, Mass.
Slezek has served in a variety of financial roles for local insurance carriers and agents as well, including as a statutory financial analyst for Maine Employers’ Mutual Insurance Company (MEMIC), a workers’ compensation carrier in Portland, Maine; as chief operations officer for FieldEddy Inc., an independent insurance agency in East Longmeadow, Mass.; and as CFO and vice president of administration for Dowd Insurance Agency, an independent insurance agency in Holyoke, Mass.
