A Schenectady, N.Y., contractor has been convicted of first-degree murder in a scheme to kill a man for life insurance money.
A jury convicted 54-year-old Tarchand Lall on Wednesday for hiring hit men from Delaware to kill Charles Dembrosky, who did construction work for him. Dembrosky was shot to death in November 2016.
Joevany Luna of Wilmington, Delaware, is serving a life sentence for killing Dembrosky. Kyshaan Moore is serving a 25-year prison sentence for driving Luna to Schenectady from Delaware for the crime.
Prosecutors say Lall was the beneficiary of Dembrosky’s $150,000 life insurance policy.
The jury acquitted Lall on charges that he tried to have a potential witness in the case killed.
Lall faces life in prison without parole when he’s sentenced in February.
