The Hilb Group LLC (THG) has acquired Massachusetts-based Marsh-Kemp Insurance Agency Inc. (MK). The transaction became effective March 1, 2019.
Established in 1912, MK provides clients with a variety of personal and business insurance options. Agency Leader Thomas McLear will continue to lead MK’s associates out of the existing locations in Worcester and Auburn.
The Hilb Group is a middle market insurance agency headquartered in Richmond, Va., and is a portfolio company of Boston-based private equity firm, Abry Partners. The Hilb Group seeks to grow through targeted acquisitions in the middle market insurance brokerage space. The company now has 72 offices in 17 states.
