Alera Group Acquires New York’s Austin & Co.

Alera Group, a national insurance firm, has acquired Austin & Co. Inc., effective July 1, 2019.

The firm expands Alera Group’s employee benefits and property and casualty expertise.

Austin & Co., located in Albany, N.Y., has served clients throughout the Northeast for more than 165 years. Its service offerings include employee benefits, commercial and business insurance, and human resources consulting services. Austin & Co. has a particular emphasis in designing unique program offerings for the education community.

All Austin & Co. employees will continue operating out of the firm’s existing locations under the name Austin & Co., an Alera Group Company LLC.

Based in Deerfield, Ill., Alera Group’s more than 1,600 employees serve thousands of clients nationally in employee benefits, property and casualty, risk management and wealth management.
