W. R. Berkley Corporation Appoints LeBlanc as President of Acadia Insurance

W. R. Berkley Corporation has appointed David J. LeBlanc as president of Acadia Insurance, a Berkley Company.

He succeeds Douglas M. Nelson, who has been appointed chairman of Acadia Insurance. The appointments are effective immediately.

LeBlanc has more than 35 years of experience in the property and casualty insurance business. He joined Acadia in 2006 and most recently served as its chief operating officer and chief underwriting officer.

Nelson joined Acadia as president in 2011 and has been instrumental in advancing the operating unit’s leadership position in commercial lines insurance in the Northeast region, according to a company press release. He will continue to support LeBlanc and the Acadia team throughout the transition. Over time, he will support other Berkley initiatives and activities.

Working with a network of local independent insurance agents in Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York and Vermont, Acadia offers targeted insurance solutions and claims expertise to business customers in many different industries.
