Marsh McLennan Agency (MMA), a subsidiary of Marsh, announced it has acquired Clark Insurance, a leading independent agency based in Maine with offices in other New England states.
Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
Founded in 1931, Clark Insurance provides insurance, employee health and benefits, and private client services to businesses and individuals across the region. Headquartered in Portland, Maine, Clark has five additional offices in Windham and Gorham, Maine; Manchester, New Hampshire; and Lowell, Massachusetts. Haberman Insurance, an agency based in West Springfield, Massachusetts that was acquired by Clark in 2021 is also part of the acquisition.
All 135 employees will be joining MMA.
Jeff Shaw, president of Clark Insurance, said MMA will give Clark clients “access to more tools and resources” and its colleagues “will see new opportunities for growth and development.”
Shaw added that the firm’s “commitment to supporting local communities will remain a top priority.”
MMA employs 9,000 colleagues in 160 offices across North America,
