The Hilb Group reports that it has acquired Massachusetts-based Lighthouse Insurance Agency, further building on the company’s presence throughout New England.
Based in the Dorchester neighborhood of Boston, Lighthouse specializes in personal and commercial insurance for transportation risks with a focus on livery and taxis. The agency also offers personal auto, homeowners and umbrellas as well as coverages for small businesses, restaurants and contractors.
According to the announcement, agency principal Brian Boucher and his staff will join Hilb Group’s New England regional operations and Hilb Group’s transportation practice.
Richmond, Virginia-based Hilb Group is a portfolio company of The Carlyle Group, a global investment firm. Hilb Group has completed more than 135 acquisitions with over 100 offices in 22 states.
Last month Hilb Group reported that is had acquired King and Cushman Agency in Northampton. Other Massachusetts agencies it has acquired in recent years in the state include Forrest Insurance Agency in Longmeadow, MillBrook Benefits and Insurance Services in East Longmeadow, and Eldredge & Lumpkin Insurance Agency in Chatham.
