Marsh McLennan Agency (MMA) announced the acquisition of Acumen Solutions Group LLC, a Melville, New York-based insurance agency.
Founded in 2012, Acumen provides personal insurance and customized commercial insurance programs, with specialties in the construction, real estate, and aviation industries.
In addition to insurance products, Acumen offers its clients administrative services required to maintain compliance and licensing under state and federal laws.
The announcement said that all Acumen employees, including President Tony D’Elia, will join MMA and continue to operate out of Melville.
Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
MMA, a business of Marsh, provides business insurance, employee health and benefits, retirement, and private client insurance. Formed in 2009 by global professional services firm Marsh McLennan to serve the middle market, the agency today has 15,000 colleagues and 300 offices across North America.
